About Us

The Del Sorbo family has been a landmark in the marine, civil and industrial sectors for 37 years. Founder and business captain is Antonio Del Sorbo, an established Neapolitan entrepreneur whose roots have dwelt in Casola di Napoli since 1949. The fifth of nine children, from the family of agricultural producers and traders, he learned the values of humility, tenacity, courage and passion.

Those same values that still today guarantee constant growth for his own business family. At a very young age, Antonio began working as a laborer in various companies, both public and private. It was in 1980 that he decided to become his own entrepreneur, starting a construction materials transport business. After five years, in 1985, he continued to set himself up by creating a business for the construction and, later, the shipbuilding industry. Since 2000, the futuristic gaze and brilliance of his children, the five stars of the company logo he designed himself, have transformed that same company into one of the most important players in national and international shipbuilding.

New Horizon

Integrity and honesty his main weapons. Strong communication and total absence of barriers, his strength. Entrepreneurial success that takes hold slowly and grows stronger as time passes, arriving at the concepts of modern leadership through a strictly personal model in doing business. A winning model. The company grows through motivated and experienced employees who espouse the company’s goals and policy. Expanding and strengthening the team are Antonio Del Sorbo’s three children, Anna, Domenico and Gabriele, who open themselves to new challenges with a stable project in Romania and one overseas in Canada.

In April 2016, the first foreign sales subsidiary, Idal Group Canada Inc., was established with the strategic goal of bringing “Made in Italy” to the Canadian shipbuilding market. Tenacity and passion bring the gaze eastward. Thus was born Idal Group East Europe, New Co, with registered office in the heart of Bucharest and carrying out activities at the Vard shipyard in Tulcea. It is in 2017 the expansion project with the new industrial settlement in Salerno, a smart, intelligent and green factory. In 2021, Idal Group completes its transformation into a Joint Stock Company.
